Day-to-day work requires a high degree of mobile work - infrequently the employees are in the ward room and thus close to the ward computers. Nevertheless, most internal processes are controlled via the HIS and thus the PC. If they have not yet been digitized, pen and phone are also required. Approaches such as a digital ward trolley can only provide selective remedy as they are too bulky to be taken along on spontaneous activities. As a consequence, employees often have to go to the ward room's PC, even though it is proven that every minute in the immediate vicinity of the patient is perceived as positive care.
