Dealing with short-term absences is unfortunately always part of the stressful daily routine in nursing. Concepts such as jumper pools or standby duty can make a major contribution to absorbing these absences. Nevertheless, it is sometimes necessary to ask a shift-free employee at short notice to take over a shift. It is not only the enormous communication effort (often via telephone lists) that is problematic, but also the pressure to which the employees are exposed on the telephone.
Our aim at Cliniserve is to avoid jumping in for colleagues in employees' shift-free times as much as possible. If this, however, is inevitable, the most important factor is fast and effective communication and making the transfer as pleasant as possible for the employee taking over. The "Shift Exchange" module enables you to communicate directly with your employees and rewards employees for their active commitment - both in monetary and non-material terms.
In the event of a short-term absence, either the employee who is absent or the ward management can send a message regarding the absence to the private mobile phones of the employees on their own (and possibly neighbouring) ward.
In the next step, the employees can decide, without any pressure, whether they want to take over the cancelled shift or not. The decision is communicated at the push of a button and is then visible to the ward manager. For prompt answers, employees receive a small payment, so that planning can be done with the feedback of as many employees as possible.
Based on the response, each employee collects bonus points for answers to shift requests and shifts taken over. The points collected can then be redeemed for attractive cash, time and voucher rewards. With the wide range of rewards available, you can offer your employees attractive incentives for active commitment.
In addition, the "Shift Exchange" module offers employees the opportunity to swap shifts with each other in order to prevent breakdowns. Also, employees can provide information on on-call times, vacation and desired times, which are fed back into shift planning and pool management, thus contributing to better planning.
